Instructional Lessons – ( Includes 3 months probationary membership)
So, you want to try archery?
Grange Bowmen regularly host instructional sessions for newcomers to archery (or those who require a refresher), it’s a great way for you to try archery under the guidance of fully accredited archery instructors. Our instructors all hold Blue Cards and have completed mandatory training with the Australian Bowhunting Association (ABA), a strong focus is placed on Safety.
Who can come?
Sessions are available to both Adults and Juniors/Cubs however all juniors/cubs must be with an accompanying parent or guardian who remain the duration of the session.
When are the instructional sessions held and how long do they take?
Sessions are usually conducted once a month on a Saturday (10am & 1pm), most sessions take around 2 to 2.5 hours.
What will I learn?
Participants learn about bow and arrow selection, basic archery form, safety on the range and courtesy to other archers.
Will I get to shoot?
Of course you will, it’s where the fun really starts! Following the brief theory session all participants are taken to the range where targets are set up and under the guidance of our instructors get to experience the thrill of shooting some arrows… lot’s of arrows! 🙂
How much does it cost and what’s included?
An individual fee is $40 (Adult) or $25 (Junior) which INCLUDES bow & arrow hire for the duration of the instruction session AND 3 month Probationary membership to Grange Bowmen. A *Family rate of $85 is available which also includes 3 month Probationary membership to Grange Bowmen. During your probationary membership you will have full use of the clubs 10 yard and 30 yard practice range to hone your skills. As you progress in competence one of our instructors can assess your capabilities and this will allow you to progress safely through various levels until you become ‘Range Cleared’. Bow & Arrow hire is available on weekends for $7 per session (capped at $20 per family). PLEASE NOTE.. WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT CASH and there are no facilities for EFTPOS transactions at the club.
* A Family rate consists of a minimum of 1 parent/guardian with no limit to the number of children as long as they are all under the age of 18 and members of the same immediate family.
